For one week each summer, the classrooms of Bellefontaine High School come alive in a different way. They are filled, not with tests and textbooks, but with curiosity, creativity, and the joyful hum of discovery.

Since 2004, the long-running Summer Enrichment Academy (SEA) once again brought together students from across Logan County, welcoming children entering grades 2 through 8 for a week of hands-on learning led by area educators and community members. From science labs to songwriting, and crafting to culinary creations, the academy offers something for every kind of learner.

Brought together by Sally Stolly, Director of Administrative Services for Benjamin Logan Schools, Angie Horvath, Gifted Coordinator for Bellefontaine City Schools, Kelly Tebbe, the Curriculum Director and Gifted Coordinator for Indian Lake Schools, and Erica Baer-Woods of the Midwest Regional ESC, these ladies work hard to offer innovative and unique opportunities for the students who enroll in this cherished summer program.

This year, 325 students from Bellefontaine, Benjamin Logan, Indian Lake, West Liberty-Salem, Riverside, Calvary Christian, and Home Schooling were a part of the academy.
