The Logan County Chronicle would like to introduce you to dietician Alyssa Kauffman. For many local residents, Alyssa is a familiar face and a trusted voice when it comes to healthy living.
A 2013 West Liberty-Salem graduate, Alyssa's journey took her from Bluffton University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition, to South Dakota State University, where she completed her Master of Science in Nutrition and Exercise Science in 2019.
After returning home to Logan County, she began serving the community as a registered dietitian, helping local families through her work at Community Health & Wellness Partners and Mary Rutan Hospital.
When she's not sharing nutrition advice, Alyssa enjoys getting lost in a good book, crocheting, working puzzles and experimenting with new recipes. She also loves spending time with family and friends, especially taking walks that often end with a sweet treat from the Ice Cream Parlor alongside her fiancé.
Her passion for serving others has also taken her around the world on medical mission trips to Brazil and Honduras, as well as to Bangladesh during her college years. This week in the Logan County Chronicle, Alyssa is excited to offer practical nutrition guidance with a hometown heart to readers across the community.
