Benjamin Logan High School senior Annika Nicole Chappell has signed to continue her academic and athletic career at Wright State University–Lake Campus, where she will compete in volleyball for the Lakers.

Anikka Chappell was one of Benjamin Logan’s top front-row contributors, finishing third on the team with 34 total blocks, giving her a strong impact defensively at the net. She also ranked among the team’s better servers with 32 service aces, adding consistent pressure from the service line throughout the season.

A dedicated student-athlete, Chappell has been involved in both volleyball and swimming during her time at Benjamin Logan. She plans to major in Environmental Science and was drawn to Wright State Lake Campus for its affordability, small class sizes, and unique lakeside setting that supports her academic interests.

“Good tuition, smaller classes, no meal plan but dorms with a full kitchen, and that the lake is right in our yard to study,” Chappell shared when asked about her decision.

While Chappell once considered swimming at the collegiate level, her senior club volleyball season solidified her passion for the sport and inspired her to pursue the opportunity. “It made me realize that I would never forgive myself if I let volleyball go,” she said.

Chappell believes her adaptability and ability to learn quickly will contribute to her success at the next level. As she joins the Lakers program, she is focused on contributing in any way possible. “I want us to play well and be a great team, but I mostly want to be beneficial to the team, regardless of my position,” she said.
