As Chronicle Media LLC continues to grow, so does the number of stories to tell, projects to complete and ideas to turn into reality. Now, the company is looking for someone who can help keep all of those moving pieces moving in the same direction.

Chronicle Media is hiring a full-time Project Manager, a new position that will sit at the center of the company's day-to-day activity.

The position comes with a $50,000 annual salary and is designed for someone who is extremely organized, communicates well and enjoys being involved in a little bit of everything.

"This is really the person in the middle of everything happening at Chronicle Media," Chronicle Media co-owner Robert Nicholson said. "We have writers, photographers, salespeople, designers and a lot of ideas. We need someone who enjoys taking all of those moving pieces and helping turn them into finished projects."

A major part of the position will be helping manage Chronicle Media's content strategy. That includes maintaining the content calendar, planning upcoming stories and features, coordinating assignments with writers and contributors, tracking projects and helping ensure deadlines are met.

The Project Manager will also help coordinate the company's weekly newspaper production schedule along with special editions, seasonal projects and other initiatives.

But Nicholson said the company isn't necessarily looking for someone with years of newspaper experience. In fact, the right candidate could come from a number of different backgrounds.

"We're looking for the organizer," Nicholson said. "The person who is always making the list, keeping everyone on schedule and asking what still needs to be done. You don't necessarily have to be a journalist. You have to be someone who can take 20 things happening at the same time and figure out how we're going to get all 20 across the finish line."

The position will work closely with nearly every part of Chronicle Media. On any given day, that could mean coordinating with a writer about an upcoming story, checking the status of a special section, making sure photos have been submitted, helping organize an upcoming project or making sure everyone knows what needs to be completed before the next deadline.

Chronicle Media is looking for someone who is comfortable taking ownership of projects rather than simply waiting for instructions.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, dependable, comfortable with technology and capable of working independently. Strong communication skills will also be important because much of the position involves coordinating people and making sure information gets where it needs to go.

Perhaps most importantly, Nicholson said the company is looking for someone who enjoys the controlled chaos that comes with a growing organization.

"There are always going to be new ideas around here," Nicholson said. "We don't want to stop having ideas. We want to get better at executing them. This position is a big part of making that happen."

The full-time Project Manager position pays $50,000 annually and offers the opportunity to take on additional responsibility as Chronicle Media continues to grow.
