For the second time in three months, the Bellefontaine City Council this week turned down a request for a tax abatement for the planned renovations to the Deercreek Village Apartments.
In July, Kristina Bellefontaine, LLC, owners of the Deercreek Village Apartments, 450 Kristina Drive, asked the council for a 75 percent, 15-year tax abatement for proposed modernizations to the housing complex. At that time, the council voted 4–2 to deny the abatement.
At Tuesday's council meeting, Sept. 22, another resolution submitted a similar proposal under the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) umbrella for renovations to the complex.
This resolution reduced the request to a 70 percent, 15-year abatement for the planned Deercreek Village upgrades…………..
