Sophomore Joy Fogan broke barriers during her second season in the red and black. In Thursday night’s contest, she completed a feat no other girl in Bellefontaine history has accomplished.
Fogan’s seventh longball of the year has highlighted a year full of growth for the second-year player. In 2026, she is on pace to pass her 2025 totals in all offensive categories.

The record-breaking blast failed to lead the Chiefs (3-11) to victory, dropping their sixth game in a row. They fell to Jonathan Alder (9-6) 15-5 in the Central Buckeye Conference matchup.
Alder started strong, scoring two runs in the opening inning of play and applying immediate pressure on the Chiefs. Pressure that eventually contributed to many unearned runs for the Lady Pioneers.
Of the 15 runs, only 8 were earned from Alder, with 5 errors being attributed to Chief defenders.
Alder stole five bases in the game and collected 17 hits in the 5 innings of play.
Bellefontaine had 4 extra base hits in the game, and the home run from the super sophomore Fogan.
Additionally, on offense, Addison Wical chipped in with 2 hits and an RBI. She also came around to score twice while on the basepaths.
Fogan was on the mound for the Chiefs on the night, receiving the loss. Jonathan Alder had the group effort of Taryn Miller and Macy Pruitt to get the win on the night.
Former Chief Mackenzie Brunswick previously held the season home run record before heading to Ohio University to suit up for the Bobcats from 2015 to 2019.
The Chiefs return to attempt to break the losing streak on Friday against a strong Shawnee Braves team.
