INDIAN LAKE, Ohio — More than 100 anglers gathered at Indian Lake over the weekend to compete in the 2026 Bank Blow Out, part of the Indian Lake Flathead Tournament series.

The event followed the previous weekend’s boat tournament and featured a bank-fishing format open to anglers of all ages. A total of 138 entries contributed to prize pools, with more than $3,500 awarded across divisions, including main payouts, a side pot and youth prizes.

Hunter Schenkel earned first place in the main division with a 34.74-pound flathead catfish, taking home $1,656. Jeff McCafferty placed second with a 34.14-pound flathead, finishing just 0.6 pounds behind the leader and earning $828. Andrew Weaver secured third place with a 32.59-pound flathead for $276.

A channel cat side pot also produced a top payout, with Blake Kanorr winning $1,104 after landing a 9.3-pound fish.

The tournament included a youth division, where Carson’s Outdoor Adventures won with a 29.92-pound flathead. The prize included a lifetime fishing license, donated by local sponsors.

Carson, who already holds lifetime fishing and hunting licenses, chose to donate the prize to another youth participant, Raina, in a gesture recognized by organizers and attendees.
