ST. PARIS, Ohio — Indian Lake’s boys and girls track and field teams turned in solid performances at the Division III district meet at Graham High School, with several athletes advancing to the regional round in Piqua.
The Lakers’ girls team placed fifth out of 11 teams with 47 points, while the boys finished 10th among 19 teams with 35 points.
Indian Lake was led by multiple runner-up finishes that secured regional berths. Gavin Henry paced the boys effort, sprinting to a second-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.18 seconds. Henry also contributed a fifth-place finish in the 300 hurdles (41.78).
Christopher Timms delivered a strong showing in the field events, placing second in the shot put with a throw of 52 feet, 1 inch, to earn a trip to regionals.
On the girls side, Addison Beck had one of the meet’s top all-around performances, qualifying in three events. Beck finished second in the 100-meter dash (12.86), took second in the long jump (16-2½), and added a fourth-place finish in the 200 meters (27.32), securing multiple regional opportunities.
Terra Beltz added another regional qualification for the Lakers with a fourth-place finish in the discus (84-3).
Beyond the top-four qualifiers, Indian Lake produced several additional scorers. The boys’ 1,600-meter relay team of Silas Holbrook, Kade Richardson, Aidan Stinebaugh, and Will Faler placed fifth in 3:30. Stinebaugh also recorded an eighth-place finish in the 400 meters (53.69).
For the girls, Mary Archer placed seventh in the 400 meters (1:07), and the 1,600 relay team of Diem Martin, Archer, Karsyn Newkirk, and Allison Overmyer finished seventh in 4:55.
With multiple athletes advancing and contributions spread across events, the Lakers will send a competitive group of individuals to the regional meet, looking to extend their seasons and make a push to the state competition.
