Indian Lake’s varsity baseball (4-4) erupted for 11 runs and eight hits Monday, pulling away early and never looking back in an 11–1 victory over North Union (2-7).

Indian Lake set the tone in the bottom of the first inning, scoring twice to grab immediate control. The Lakers kept the pressure on, adding two more runs in the second and third innings before breaking the game open with a five‑run sixth.

North Union’s lone run came in the top of the first inning. Greysen Bledsoe went 2 for 3 at the plate to account for a hefty amount of North Union’s offense, while Hayden Bright added a hit and an RBI. North Union finished with just three hits as a team and struck out seven times at the plate.

Indian Lake’s offense was balanced throughout the lineup. Cooper Hall finished 2 for 3 with an RBI, while Braydy Golliday drove in a run and reached base twice. Dawson Stevenson went 2 for 2, and Grant Wickline collected two hits and two RBIs. Indian Lake totaled eight hits, drew seven walks, and capitalized on three North Union errors.

On the mound, Indian Lake received a strong pitching performance, limiting North Union to one run.

The staff struck out six and allowed only three hits over the course of the game. North Union pitchers struggled to contain Indian Lake’s offense, allowing 11 runs, six earned, while issuing multiple walks.

Defensively, Indian Lake played a clean game with no errors, while North Union committed five miscues in the field that helped extend innings and create additional scoring chances for the Lakers.

North Union fell to the mercy rule as the game ended after six innings. Despite the lopsided score, Bledsoe and Bright each turned in solid individual efforts for North Union, which will look to regroup moving forward.

Indian Lake’s combination of timely hitting, patient at‑bats and steady pitching proved too much to overcome, as the Lakers cruised to a dominant win on their home field.

Despite their .500 record, the Lakers now see themselves atop the Mad River division in the CBC, being 4-1 in conference play.

The Laker boys returned to action on Wednesday, April 15, in a rematch against this same North Union squad.
