“This is a great milestone for our public library and for the Logan County community. We are proud of the fact that the library was chartered in 1901 and is still going strong after 125 years,” Logan County Libraries Executive Director Beverly Arlequeeuw said.
“It takes great collaboration from our library trustees, administration, staff and our community to make the library such a success.”
Monday, May 4, the week kicks off at the Knowlton Library with a tasty event, as local bakers vie for the title of “Best Edible Book Cake” in the contest that features public voting.
The literary cake creations will be available on display from 11 a.m. to noon Monday, when the public can place their votes for their favorite pieces.
Then around 12:15 p.m., the votes will be tallied and the first, second and third place winners will be announced, which includes cash prizes.
(Contest registration forms were due by Friday afternoon, May 1).

Tuesday, May 5, the Mad River Valley Dulcimer Society performs at the Knowlton Library at 2:30 p.m. That evening at 6:30 p.m., Beth Marshall from the Logan County History Center presents “Once Upon a Time, There Was No Library.”
