Children take a spin this week on the new playground equipment at Harmon Field, Home of the Kristopher Myers Recreation Complex, where a re-opening celebration of the historic park is set for noon Saturday, July 11, to commemorate several years of planning for this revitalization effort.
A ribbon cutting is planned at the 908 W. Columbus Ave. park, along with a brief ceremony featuring several speakers, including Bellefontaine Joint Recreation District Superintendent Rick Reed, Board President Pat Ellis, Biff Roberts, Bellefontaine Mayor Dave Crissman and Adam Hannah. Food trucks will be on site as well, including The Main Squeeze and Waldog Franks, city officials note. Representatives for the CORS Head Start program will also provide information on local Head Start programming.
