DEGRAFF- Thursday night was a special night for Riverside athletics. Not only did they compete in a tri-meet against Jackson Center and Temple Christian, but they also honored their senior leaders one final time in front of their home spectators.
Once events got underway, Riverside athletes delivered an impressive showing across the board, highlighted by multiple first-place finishes and numerous personal records.
On the girls’ side, Valerie Knight led the way in the throwing events, earning a second-place finish in shot put with a throw of 26’1” and capturing first place in discus with a mark of 83’3”. Kenna Johnson had a standout meet, winning the long jump with a leap of 15’1” and placing third in the 100-meter hurdles with a personal record time of 19.59. Addison Shoe added a strong performance in the sprints, finishing second in the 100-meter dash in 14.11 seconds.
In discus, both Aairika Robinson and Lily Zwiebel recorded personal bests with throws of 61’7” and 58’, respectively, showing continued improvement in the field events.
The girls’ 4x100-meter relay team of Kenna Johnson, Lily Zwiebel, Madison Schindewolf, and Addison Shoe secured a first-place finish with a time of 56.24, showcasing strong teamwork and speed.

On the boys’ side, Tristin Orsborne had an exceptional meet, earning three first-place finishes in pole vault (7’), long jump (17’11”), and the 200-meter dash (25.50), while also placing second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.28.
Cruz Parker turned in a strong all-around performance, setting personal records in discus (90’5”), shot put (38’6”), and the 100-meter dash (14.18). Senior Joel Brooks was recognized not only for his leadership but also for his performance, taking second place in discus with a personal record throw of 114’6”.
Additional personal records came from Josh Caldwell in the long jump (11’3.75”), Devin Morrison in the long jump (12’5”) and 100-meter dash (15.61), and Aiden Fout, who placed third in the 400-meter dash with a personal record time of 59.14. Fout also claimed a first-place finish in the 3200-meter run with a time of 18:06.
The meet highlighted Riverside’s growth and competitive spirit, with many athletes achieving personal bests as the season progresses.
Riverside will look to carry this momentum forward as they travel to Mechanicsburg on Friday for their next meet.
