The Bellefontaine Exchange Club helped prepare our youngest students for a safe start to school through the 64th annual Safety Town program. Pictured, Bellefontaine DARE Officer Isaac Chiles instructs the incoming kindergartners in important pedestrian safety information. Fellow DARE Officers Doug Walters and John Godwin were proud to be part of the program as well. Throughout June, officers worked with almost 200 students, teaching important safety lessons including pedestrian safety, stranger danger, gun safety, playground safety, fire safety and bus safety. The Bellefontaine Police Department expressed appreciation to the Bellefontaine Exchange Club, all of the volunteers and the families who made this year's Safety Town a success. “Investing in our children today helps build a safer community tomorrow,” officers said.
