Mary Rutan Hospital welcomed two surprise guests Tuesday, May 26, as Senator Jon Husted (R-Ohio) and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz dropped by for a tour of the facility and met with the hospital’s leadership to discuss the Rural Health Transformation Fund.

The Rural Health Transformation Fund was created with the passage in of the Working Families Tax Cuts Act and signed into law by President Donald Trump in on July 4, 2025.  

CMS awarded the state of Ohio just over $202 million for Fiscal Year 2026 as part of the Rural Health Transformation Fund, with some of those funds likely to be awarded to Mary Rutan Hospital.
