Bellefontaine Cinema 8, located at 888 E. Sandusky Ave., is prepping for a fun-filled event later this month, as the theater participates in the 2026 Ohio Goes to the Movies celebration.

Sunday afternoon, Aug. 30, the cinema hosts a free showing of The Nutty Professor (1996), as part of the overall celebration of America's 250th Anniversary.

Doors open at 2:30 p.m. for the event. Admission is free for the movie, but tickets are first-come, first-served. Concessions available for purchase at the booth.

Pre-show trivia is planned, along with raffle baskets (free entry, one per admissions), games with small prizes and photo opportunities.

The movie begins at 3:30 p.m. following the trivia.

The grand prize raffle is one free movie admission a week for a year. Raffles will be drawn at the end of the movie. Must be present to win. ■
