Behind superb pitching and a decisive seven-run second inning, Bellefontaine hopped on top early and never looked back.
Northwestern struck first after an early hit, and an error against the Chiefs made the score 1-0 early in favor of the Warriors. This would be the only hit of the contest for Northwestern.
That lead would be short-lived. In the bottom of the second inning, a tribe of Chiefs was able to get on base and come around to score, taking a decisive 7-1 lead heading into the back half of the game.
Bellefontaine capitalized on four errors given to the Warriors on the night, while collecting nine hits and six walks along the way.
