The 2026 Dexter High School All-American Bowling Team. UNITED STATES BOWLING CONGRESS

The Bellefontaine community has long celebrated Kyndallynn “Gracie” Hood for her remarkable success on the bowling lanes, and now she has added another prestigious achievement to her growing list of accomplishments. Hood has been named to the 2025-2026 Dexter High School All-American Bowling Team, one of the highest honors awarded to high school bowlers in the nation.

Announced by Dexter Bowling and the National Selection Committee, the All-American Team recognizes five outstanding student-athletes from across the country who have excelled not only in competition but also in academics, leadership, and service to their communities. To earn consideration, applicants were required to maintain at least a 3.0 GPA, submit records of their athletic and academic achievements, write an essay, and provide multiple letters of recommendation.

For Hood, the recognition comes after a truly historic senior season at Bellefontaine High School.

Her final year in a Chieftain uniform was highlighted by winning the 2026 Ohio High School Athletic Association Division I Individual State Championship, solidifying her place among Ohio’s finest bowlers. She also captured a sectional title and earned her second consecutive Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail Bowler of the Year award.

Beyond her state championship success, Hood continued to showcase her talent on larger stages. She recorded top-10 finishes at the Junior Gold Championships, the High School Bowling National Championship, and a Professional Women’s Bowling Association Regional event. Perhaps most impressively, she set an Ohio state record during the 2025-2026 season with an incredible 788 series, a testament to her consistency and competitive excellence.

While her accomplishments on the lanes are extraordinary, Hood’s impact reaches far beyond bowling.

A standout student, she carries a remarkable 4.146 GPA and is actively involved in the French Honor Society, orchestra, and HOSA. Her commitment to service and growing the sport also played a significant role in her selection as an All-American. As a USBC Bronze Coach, Hood spends time mentoring younger bowlers, donates equipment to those in need, and uses social media to encourage participation and enthusiasm for bowling.

Those efforts reflect the character and leadership that have made her an outstanding representative of Bellefontaine both locally and nationally.

As part of her All-American selection, Hood will receive a $1,000 scholarship recognizing her achievements. She will continue both her academic and bowling careers at Mount Mercy University, where she plans to pursue a degree in nursing while competing at the collegiate level.

For Bellefontaine, Hood’s selection to the Dexter High School All-American Team is more than an individual honor—it is a celebration of dedication, perseverance, excellence, and service. From state champion and record holder to mentor and community leader, she has represented Bellefontaine with distinction at every step of her journey.

The entire Bellefontaine community congratulates Kyndallynn Hood on this well-deserved national recognition and looks forward to following her continued success as she begins the next chapter of her academic and athletic career. Her achievements have made the Chieftain community proud and have set a lasting example for future generations of student-athletes.
