Benjamin Logan High School students earned a second-place overall finish at the 2026 Area IV Envirothon on Tuesday, April 28, at the Preble County Historical Society, qualifying for the Ohio Envirothon State Competition. 

Benjamin Logan fielded two teams under the direction of Spencer Reames. Participating students included Trinity Helton, Junah Tingley, Winnie Bodin, Marlee Butcher, Annika Chappell, Ashlyn Kelsey, Alivia James, Elizabeth James, Dane Reffner and Michael Dickey.

The senior team (team 1) secured the runner-up finish among a competitive field of schools from across Southwest Ohio and also earned top honors in Aquatics, recording the highest score in that category. 

The Envirothon is a hands-on environmental science competition that challenges students in aquatics, forestry, soils, wildlife, and current environmental issues. 

With the top four teams advancing, Benjamin Logan will now compete at the state level against top teams from across Ohio.
