Benjamin Logan Players hold their helmets in the air (TONY BARRETT | CHRONICLE STAFF)

Benjamin Logan will look to put last week’s disappointing performance behind it when the Raiders take on Northwestern this Friday, with an opportunity to get back on track against a Warriors team still searching for its first win of the season.

The Raiders (3-5) are coming off an uncharacteristic showing against Central Buckeye Conference rival Indian Lake, suffering their first shutout of the season while turning the ball over four times. Benjamin Logan was unable to complete a pass and struggled to find its rhythm offensively, marking a sharp departure from the consistency it had displayed throughout the season.

Before last Friday’s loss, the Raiders had not been held below 10 points or lost a game by more than two possessions. Even when facing adversity, Benjamin Logan had consistently remained within striking distance of its opponents.

Now, the focus shifts to finding that offensive identity again.

Getting the ball into the hands of playmakers Wyatt Predmore, Jordan Pender and Gabe Predmore will be a key priority for the Raiders as they look to generate momentum and put points on the board. Establishing a rhythm early, limiting turnovers and creating opportunities for their top offensive threats could help Benjamin Logan regain the confidence it showed in the weeks leading up to the Indian Lake matchup.

Friday’s contest presents an opportunity for the Raiders to put last week’s struggles behind them and deliver a much-needed response.

Northwestern enters the matchup looking to turn its season around after enduring a difficult stretch. The Warriors have yet to record a victory and have struggled to keep pace with opponents, scoring just 45 points while surrendering 338 through the season.

Offensive production has been a particular challenge for Northwestern, which has not scored more than 13 points in a game this season. The Warriors have also found themselves facing significant deficits before halftime in several contests, making early momentum an important factor heading into Friday.

For Benjamin Logan, the matchup offers a chance to correct the mistakes that proved costly last week. Protecting the football, executing in the passing game and getting its playmakers involved will be essential to avoiding another frustrating offensive performance.

The Raiders cannot afford to overlook Northwestern, but a strong start and a return to their usual offensive execution could put them in position to control the game.

After a difficult night against Indian Lake, Benjamin Logan will look to respond with a complete performance Friday and build some positive momentum as the season continues.
