SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — With the regular season winding down, Benjamin Logan will have an opportunity to close out its schedule on a positive note Friday night when the Raiders travel to Shawnee in a Central Buckeye Conference matchup.

Benjamin Logan enters the contest at 4-5 and is looking to finish at .500 after defeating Northwestern High School 78-0. The Raiders have shown resilience throughout the year, battling through a demanding schedule while remaining competitive in several closely contested games. A victory Friday would give Benjamin Logan a chance to finish the regular season on a high note, riding a 2-game win streak into the offseason.

Shawnee arrives with a 2-7 record but has continued to compete despite a challenging season. The Braves will be looking to play spoiler and earn a road victory as they seek a strong finish to their campaign.

For Benjamin Logan, establishing control at the line of scrimmage could be the deciding factor. The Raiders have been at their best when they are able to run the football effectively and sustain drives, allowing their offense to control tempo while keeping opposing offenses off the field. Defensively, limiting explosive plays and winning the turnover battle will be priorities.

Senior Jordan Pender should get plenty of opportunities to build off of last week’s performance. He and Adam Tinsman make up a backfield that averages nearly 200 yards a game. Wyatt Predmore has been the home run hitter for the Raiders, averaging a hefty 8.1 yards per rush on his 30 attempts this season.

Shawnee will likely look to create opportunities through its defense and special teams while attempting to generate momentum early. An aggressive start could help the Braves gain confidence and put pressure on the Raider sideline.

The challenge for the Braves has been just that; as a team, they have struggled to consistently move the ball against sound defenses. If the Riders can play disciplined and keep the explosive plays for the Braves at a minimum, they should walk away feeling good on Friday night.

As both teams enter the final stretch of the season, Friday's matchup represents more than just another game on the schedule. For Benjamin Logan, it is a chance to reward its seniors for their hard work over four years and continue building toward a strong culture. For Shawnee, it is an opportunity to end the season on a high note and carry positive momentum into the offseason.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday as the Raiders and Braves square off in the season finale with a chance to cap week 10 off on a positive.
