The Benjamin Logan boys and girls soccer teams both found the win column Tuesday night, making it a successful evening for the Raiders against Northwestern.

The girls continued their impressive defensive stretch with a 2-0 shutout, while the boys provided plenty of offensive fireworks in a 6-1 victory.

With both programs heading into their next matchups with momentum on their side, Benjamin Logan will now turn its attention to London, which visits the Raiders on Monday.

Benjamin Logan Girls 2, Northwestern 0

The Benjamin Logan girls soccer team continued to build momentum Tuesday night, putting together another strong defensive performance in a 2-0 victory over Northwestern.

The victory makes the Raiders unbeaten in their last 6 contests, not suffering a loss since the 5th of September, when Brookville narrowly edged them 2-1.

The Raiders wasted little time making their presence felt, as Ella Stoodt found the back of the net to put Benjamin Logan on the board. Stoodt continued to make an impact throughout the contest, later assisting on another Raider goal.

Daylin Varner also got in on the scoring, finding the back of the net to give Benjamin Logan the insurance it needed.

Kiera Clapsaddle added an assist as the Raiders' offense consistently created opportunities while the defense took care of the rest.

Much of Benjamin Logan's success came on the defensive end, where goalkeeper Avery Rogers continued her outstanding run between the posts. Rogers recorded her third consecutive shutout and fifth of the season, helping the Raiders keep Northwestern off the scoreboard from start to finish.

The victory moves Benjamin Logan to 7-2-1 overall, while the Raiders remain atop the Mad River Division of the Central Buckeye Conference.

While the girls relied on their defense to secure a shutout, the Benjamin Logan boys turned Tuesday night into an offensive showcase.

The Raiders found the back of the net six times on their way to a convincing 6-1 victory over Northwestern, with Gavin Jordan leading the charge.

Jordan completed a hat trick, scoring three times to account for half of Benjamin Logan's goals. Luke Vesely also turned in a strong offensive performance, finding the back of the net twice, while Massi Sardinha added another goal for the Raiders.

Benjamin Logan's offensive success was not limited to its goal scorers, however. The Raiders consistently created opportunities through their passing and playmaking, with Bode Clapsaddle recording a team-high three assists.

Cason Lacher also played a major role in creating scoring opportunities, contributing two assists in the victory.

The combination of finishing and playmaking allowed Benjamin Logan to pull away from Northwestern and cruise to the 6-1 final.

The win brings the Raiders to 4-3-3 on the season as they continue to find their footing and build momentum heading into the latter portion of the schedule.

Both Benjamin Logan soccer teams will be back on their home field Monday, when London comes to town for a pair of matchups.

For the Raiders, Tuesday night provided something both teams will be looking to carry forward — a pair of victories, plenty of positive momentum and another opportunity to continue climbing the standings.
