For the past decade, Bobbi's Bungalow has welcomed travelers from around the world to our community. As they celebrate their 10th anniversary this month, we’re pleased to acknowledge their years of welcoming visitors to West Liberty with exceptional hospitality and small-town charm.

When Roberta Yoder purchased the historic bungalow 10 years ago, she saw more than just an old house. She envisioned a place where guests could experience the character of a nearly century-old home while enjoying all the comforts of modern living.

That vision has become a reality through years of thoughtful restoration, continual improvements, and a genuine passion for making every guest feel at home.

Today, Bobbi's Bungalow, 211 N. Detroit St., West Liberty, has become a destination for visitors traveling to Logan County for family gatherings, weddings, business trips, community events, and weekend getaways.

Guests enjoy having an entire home to themselves, complete with vintage décor, peaceful gardens, a fully equipped kitchen, and the personal touches that have earned the property a loyal following of repeat visitors.

Behind the scenes, Bobbi's Bungalow is truly a family effort. While Roberta serves as owner and hostess, her husband, Jeff Yoder, plays an essential role in maintaining the property.

Whether repairing, renovating, or tackling the next improvement project, Jeff's craftsmanship and dedication help preserve the home's historic charm while ensuring every guest enjoys a comfortable stay.

Even the name "Bobbi's Bungalow" has a story. As a child, Roberta was known as "Bobbi Jo" until she transferred schools and decided to go by her given name after meeting another classmate named Bobby.

Years later, when searching for the perfect name for her guest house, "Bobbi's Bungalow" simply felt right. While friends know her as Roberta, the childhood nickname has become a memorable part of the business's identity.

For Roberta, West Liberty has always felt like home, making it the perfect place to welcome visitors. One of her favorite parts of hosting is introducing guests to everything Logan County has to offer. Whether recommending a favorite local restaurant, suggesting a scenic park or pointing visitors toward unique shops and community events, she enjoys helping guests discover why so many people fall in love with the area.

That personal approach reflects Bobbi's Bungalow's guiding philosophy: treat every guest the way you would want to be treated. It's a simple principle, but one that has helped build a business based on repeat visits, referrals, and exceptional reviews.

Over the past 10 years, hundreds of guests from across the United States and beyond have stayed at the bungalow, with many describing it as a true home away from home.

The business's commitment to excellence has not gone unnoticed. Bobbi's Bungalow has twice been voted Best Airbnb/Cottage in Logan County, has been recognized as a West Liberty Business of the Month, and has earned Airbnb Superhost status numerous times – including currently – while consistently receiving five-star reviews from guests.

Maintaining a historic home is an ongoing labor of love, and Roberta and Jeff continue investing in improvements that enhance every stay while preserving the property's original character. This year, projects include replacing the backyard deck and repairing the beloved porch swing after it was damaged during a windstorm.

Their commitment to caring for the nearly 100-year-old home ensures future guests will continue to enjoy its unique charm for years to come.

Community involvement is also a cornerstone of Bobbi's Bungalow's success. Roberta has sponsored events through the West Liberty Business Association, participated in the Christmas Tour of Homes, served on the West Liberty Business Association Board, and volunteered for numerous community activities. She believes that when visitors have a wonderful experience and local businesses support one another, the entire community benefits.

That same spirit led her to join the Logan County Chamber of Commerce 10 years ago. Since then, she has remained actively involved through Leadership Logan County, Women's Business Network, HR Roundtable meetings, educational workshops, the AAA Travel Sho and countless Chamber networking events.

When asked what advice she would offer aspiring entrepreneurs, Roberta's answer reflects the values that have guided Bobbi's Bungalow from the beginning: don't be afraid to start, never stop learning, build strong relationships, and always provide outstanding customer service. Success doesn't happen overnight, she says, but consistency, integrity and caring about people will always make a difference.
