BELLEFONTAINE — Calvary Christian School has purchased neighboring property at 1699 County Road 9, expanding its campus to 41 acres and creating additional possibilities for future programs and facilities.
The school announced the acquisition Sept. 29, reporting that donor contributions covered 78% of the purchase price. The announcement did not disclose the total cost or the acreage of the newly acquired property.
The purchase gives Calvary more flexibility as it continues its campus master-planning process. Potential uses include educational programs, student activities, outdoor spaces, spiritual development and community service. The announcement did not identify a specific construction project or development timetable.
“This is about more than acquiring additional acreage,” the school said in the announcement, written by Ryan Hyde. Calvary credited the acquisition to donors’ generosity and God’s provision, while thanking the property owners, board members and others who helped complete the purchase.
Calvary has operated since 1979 and serves students from its K4 early childhood program through 12th grade. Located at 1673 County Road 9 in Bellefontaine, the school describes its educational approach as combining academic instruction with spiritual growth and character development. Its stated mission emphasizes preparing students for both life and eternity through a Christ-centered education.
Decisions about the additional property will be guided by that mission, the school said, with an emphasis on careful planning, consultation and prayer rather than an immediate commitment to a particular use.
