The Bellefontaine girls tennis team got its season off to an impressive start, sweeping Lehman Catholic by a 5-0 score in a strong showing on the home courts.

The Chiefs established control early in singles play and carried that momentum through doubles competition, winning all five matches against Lehman Catholic.

In first singles, Mia Brown earned Bellefontaine’s first victory of the day, defeating C. Spade 6-2, 7-6(8) in a competitive match that required a tiebreaker to decide the second set. Rylee Crabtree followed with a solid performance at second singles, defeating A. Alvarez 6-2, 6-3.

Olivia Warye added another straight-set victory at third singles, dominating A. Cox 6-0, 6-0 to complete a perfect day for the Chiefs in singles competition.

Bellefontaine continued its strong play in doubles. The first doubles team of Vasquez and Barton defeated Keller and Haskins 6-0, 3-1 before the match was retired. At second doubles, Pulfer and Aruzza completed the sweep with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Germmall and Witt.

The 5-0 team victory gives Bellefontaine an excellent start to the season and provides plenty of early momentum for the Chiefs. With strong performances throughout the lineup, Bellefontaine showed both depth and consistency in its opening match.

The Chiefs will look to build on the impressive season-opening performance as they continue their 2026 campaign.
