With the plan to “own the sky for the Fourth of July,” efforts to raise funding for this year’s Indian Lake fireworks display continue to move forward. On Thursday, May 22, members of the community working to support the event gathered at Choice Properties in Russells Point to update the total they’ve received so far.
Currently, that number sits at just under $100,000—54 percent toward their goal of $180,000.
“This is a special July fourth celebration because it’s our country’s two-hundred-and-fiftieth anniversary,” Tammy Gump with Mary Rutan Hospital pointed out. “That makes this display more meaningful.”

When the Indian Lake Chamber reached out to Above All Power Washing & Window Cleaning, CEO Andy Law said he “jumped on it immediately.” He continued, “It’s such a great event that’s been a staple in the community since 1965. Our number one hope is to keep the tradition going.”
To submit a donation, go to givebetter.com and search for Own the Sky for the Fourth of July. You can also show your support by participating in the Firecracker Run on Saturday, June 13. This one-time activity, specifically geared toward motorcyclists, invites all vehicles that can travel at highway speeds safely for a cruise around Indian Lake.
Registration starts at 10:30 a.m. with kickstands up at noon. Cost is $20 per rider and includes a light lunch from the event host, LuLu’s at the Lake.
