The Raiders and the Falcons faced off in Central Buckeye Conference action in Week 6 of Friday Night Lights. A battle of the trenches took all four quarters and overtime to see the dust settle, with the Falcons coming from behind to walk away victorious, 32-24.

Friday night started off with the Benjamin Logan Raiders introducing their King and Queen for their Homecoming celebrations. The night of football action kicked off in grand fashion when the Raiders blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown just over a minute into the game.

Owen Weaks came up with the blocked punt and took it 20 yards to the end zone, giving Benjamin Logan an early 7-0 advantage.

The Raiders weren't finished.

Benjamin Logan put together a 61-yard, 10-play drive on its first offensive possession, with Rhett Newman finishing the drive with a 5-yard touchdown run as the first quarter came to a close. The score pushed the Raiders' lead to 14-0 and gave the home crowd plenty to celebrate.

Graham finally found its footing on the following possession.

Jakob Hoke ripped off a 19-yard run to open the drive before Falcons quarterback Gage Stull connected with Brody Jenkins on a 68-yard touchdown pass. Graham missed the ensuing extra point, leaving Benjamin Logan with a 14-6 lead.

The Falcons continued to chip away at the deficit, putting together an 80-yard drive that ended with Daniel Hoke punching in a 4-yard touchdown run. Graham again came up empty on the two-point attempt, cutting the Raider advantage to 14-12.

Benjamin Logan answered before halftime.

Following an interception by Raider linebacker Hayden Hites that gave Benjamin Logan possession at the Graham 38-yard line, the Raiders capitalized on the short field. Jordan Pender broke loose for a 26-yard touchdown run, extending the Benjamin Logan lead to 21-12 heading into halftime.

The Falcons came out of the locker room determined to erase the deficit.

Graham marched 59 yards on eight plays on its opening drive of the second half, with Stull connecting with Jenkins for a 39-yard completion down to the Benjamin Logan 2-yard line. Daniel Hoke finished the drive with another touchdown run, bringing Graham within 21-18.

The Raiders' defense continued to battle, but Graham's ground game gradually began to wear down the Benjamin Logan defense.

With 9:20 remaining in the fourth quarter, Daniel Hoke found the end zone again on a 2-yard touchdown run, giving Graham its first lead of the night. The Falcons' extra point was blocked, however, keeping the game within one possession at 24-21.

Benjamin Logan wasn't ready to let Homecoming slip away.

After the Raiders' next drive stalled at the Graham 33-yard line, senior kicker Brandon Heater stepped onto the field and delivered one of the biggest kicks of the night.

Heater drilled a 50-yard field goal with 5:11 remaining in regulation, tying the game at 24-24.

From there, both defenses dug in.

Graham reached the Benjamin Logan 42-yard line with just over two minutes remaining, but Hites came up with back-to-back tackles for loss to force a fourth-and-11. The Falcons were forced to punt, giving the Raiders another opportunity to take control.

Benjamin Logan couldn't generate enough offense on its final possession, however, sending the game to overtime.

Graham won the toss and took advantage of its first possession.

The Falcons leaned heavily on their running game, using seven rushing plays to find the end zone. Daniel Hoke finished the drive with a 3-yard touchdown run, putting Graham ahead 30-24.

With its kicking struggles continuing throughout the night, Graham elected to go for two — and Hoke delivered again, powering his way into the end zone to make it 32-24.

Benjamin Logan had one final opportunity to extend the game.

The Falcons' defense stuffed the Raiders for negative yardage on their first two plays before Adam Tinsman faced a fourth-and-15 from the Graham 25-yard line. Tinsman's final pass fell incomplete in the end zone, bringing an end to a dramatic Homecoming battle.

Despite leading by 14 points early, Benjamin Logan couldn't hold off the Falcons' second-half rally. Graham's combination of physical running and defensive stops ultimately allowed it to escape Bellefontaine with a 32-24 overtime victory.

For the Raiders, the loss came in a game where they showed they could go toe-to-toe with one of the conference's top teams. Benjamin Logan controlled much of the opening half, forced turnovers and special-teams mistakes, and had an opportunity to win the game in regulation before Graham completed its comeback.

The Raiders will look to bounce back next week when they travel to take on North Union in another CBC matchup.
