Mary Rutan Health announces the upcoming retirement of Tammy Gump, a respected leader whose career has spanned nearly four decades of service, leadership and commitment to the community.
As Gump’s retirement approaches at the end of May, Mary Rutan Health also welcomes two new leaders who will be employed by the Mary Rutan Foundation – Bobbie Trittschuh and Derek Robb; along with the promotion of longtime staff member Christie Barns.
Gump currently serves as Chief Operating Officer of the Mary Rutan Foundation, Chief Operating Officer of the Logan County Cancer Society and Vice President of Community Health & Outreach. Upon her retirement, she will conclude a 36-year career with the organization, which included a brief four-year period away in the early 1990s.
“Tammy’s impact on Mary Rutan Health and the communities we serve cannot be overstated,” said Chad Ross, President and CEO of Mary Rutan Health.
“Throughout her career, she has played a critical role in strengthening our financial operations, expanding access to care and advancing our community outreach and philanthropic efforts. She is a trusted leader and a true advocate for our mission.”
“As I reflect on my time at Mary Rutan Health, I am incredibly grateful for the relationships, experiences and opportunities to serve this community,” said Gump.
“It has been an honor to be part of an organization so deeply committed to making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.”
Gump began her career at Mary Rutan Health as an accountant and steadily advanced into leadership roles, including Director of Patient Accounts and Chief Operating Officer of Logan View LLC.
Over the years, she played a vital role in strengthening the organization’s financial operations, overseeing physician recruitment and management, ambulatory clinic operations, home medical equipment, collection services, and compliance, while also expanding community outreach efforts and enhancing philanthropic initiatives that support patients and families across the region.
Bobbie Trittschuh joined the Mary Rutan Foundation as Executive Director on April 27. Trittschuh brings nearly 30 years of experience in corporate philanthropy, community relations and nonprofit leadership.
Most recently, she has served in leadership roles with American Honda Motor Co., Inc. and the Honda USA Foundation, where she led national and local giving strategies, managed multi-million-dollar philanthropic budgets and strengthened partnerships with community organizations across the country.
Her experience includes executive leadership of foundation operations, strategic planning, grant management and community engagement, positioning her to lead the continued growth and impact of the Mary Rutan Foundation.
Derek Robb will join the organization as Assistant Director of the Mary Rutan Foundation on May 4. Robb brings a background in healthcare administration and community engagement, most recently serving as a Business Development Specialist at Southwest Recovery Center and previously as the Community Engagement Director at United Way of Logan County.
He has experience supporting community-based programs, coordinating volunteer efforts and advancing fundraising initiatives through collaboration with regional partners.
In these roles, Robb and Trittschuh will continue advancing the Foundation’s mission, with an increased focus on strategically allocating resources to expand regional health and wellness initiatives and strengthen philanthropic development in support of long-term community impact.
In addition, Christie Barns, who has been with Mary Rutan Health for nearly 15 years and currently serves as Community Outreach Manager, has been promoted to Director of Community Outreach.
In her new role, Barns will continue to lead community engagement efforts, further strengthening relationships and outreach initiatives that support the organization’s mission.
“While we will greatly miss Tammy, we are excited to welcome Bobbie and Derek to our team and to recognize Christie on her well-earned promotion,” Ross added.
“Together, their experience, leadership and passion for community engagement will ensure the continued success and growth of our Foundation and outreach efforts throughout all of Mary Rutan Health.”
Mary Rutan Health remains committed to strengthening community partnerships, expanding access to resources and advancing the mission of the Mary Rutan Foundation through initiatives that support the health and well-being of the communities it serves.
