Bellefontaine Service/Safety Director Wes Dodds made an emotional statement during Bellefontaine City Council’s Tuesday evening meeting, June 9, regarding his friend and colleague, Kris Myers, who passed away unexpectedly in December.
He read his statement to council prior to the members’ vote on a resolution that would update the name of Harmon Field to honor Kristopher Myers, the long-time superintendent of the Bellefontaine Joint Recreation District.
Then, following a motion from council member Jordan Reser, the language of the resolution was changed slightly and the council voted unanimously to update the name of the site to “Harmon Field, Home of the Kristopher Myers Recreation Complex” with immediate effect.
