MARYSVILLE — Honda led all automakers in the Cars.com 2026 American-Made Index, with five Honda and Acura vehicles ranked in the top 10, company officials announced Tuesday, June 23.
The Honda and Acura models in the top 10 include the Honda Passport SUV, Ridgeline pickup, Odyssey minivan, and Acura MDX SUV – with the Honda Accord, the first automobile Honda built in America in November 1982, also returning to the top 10, in its 50th anniversary year.
Both the Honda Accord and the Acura MDX are locally manufactured.
The Accord, ranked number eight on the newly released Cars.com list, is produced at the Marysville Auto Plant, with engine production at the Anna Engine Plant and transmission production at the Ohio Transmission Plant in Russells Point. Also ranked as America's best-selling car over the past 50 years, the Accord returns to the top 10 as the highest-ranking gas-powered car on the list, company officials said.

“Year after year, Honda continues to earn recognition as one of the most American-made automotive brands, reflecting our deep investment in local manufacturing, a strong domestic supply base and the talented associates who bring our vehicles to life each day,” Jun Jayaraman, senior vice president of the Manufacturing Management Center, Honda Development & Manufacturing of America, LLC, said in a release.
"This commitment to build products close to our customers ensures we consistently deliver safe, reliable, high-quality and affordable vehicles that meet the needs of our customers across America.”
In addition, company officials also note Honda led all automakers with seven vehicles ranked in the top 20 of the Cars.com American-Made Index, three more than any competitor.
Joining in on the top 20 list are two vehicles that are also manufactured exclusively in Ohio - the Acura RDX and Integra.

Based on its longstanding commitment to build products close to the customer, using domestic and globally made parts, Honda has more top 10-ranked models than any automaker over the 21-year history of the Cars.com American-Made Index.
A total of 57 Honda and Acura models have been in the top 10 since 2006, with the next highest ranked automaker totaling 53 vehicles.

This year, five of the top 20 vehicles on the Cars.com index – Honda Passport, Ridgeline and Odyssey, and the Acura MDX and RDX – were designed and developed by Honda engineers in the United States.
In addition, the Honda Alabama Auto Plant, the exclusive production home to the Passport, Ridgeline, Odyssey and Pilot, has produced more vehicles in the top 10 of the Cars.com American-Made Index than any other plant over the 21-year history of the index.
