The Indian Lake Middle School cross country teams showed plenty of grit this week, competing in two races within a 24-hour span and responding with several personal-best performances at the Logan County Meet.

Despite the demanding schedule, a significant portion of the Lakers' runners recorded personal records or season-best times, helping the girls finish third as a team and the boys claim second.

Lakers Girls Finish Third

The Indian Lake girls team finished third overall, led by a pair of top-11 finishes from Serenity Albert and Taylor Alltop.

Albert finished 10th overall with a personal-record time of 17:34. Alltop followed in 11th, also setting a new PR with a time of 18:08.

Aubrey Hoffman turned in another strong performance, finishing fourth overall with a new personal record of 18:57.

Makenna Gibbons placed 17th with a time of 20:14, while Raelyn Hoge finished 18th at 20:15, earning a new season-best time.

Cheyenne Pender continued the Lakers' strong showing, finishing 19th with a new PR of 20:58.

Kenzi Arnett finished 22nd in 23:59. Hailee Schoenberger, competing in her first race of the season, placed 23rd in 24:06.

Rozalyn Lane also made her season debut, finishing 27th with a time of 26:24.

Boys Take Second

The Indian Lake boys team turned in a second-place finish, led by Hayden Thompson and Isaac King, who finished within four seconds of one another and both earned top-seven medals.

Thompson placed fifth overall with a time of 14:27, while King finished sixth at 14:31 and recorded a new personal best.

Kole Gilliam finished 10th in 17:24, setting a new PR, while Lincoln Halterman followed in 11th with another personal-best time of 17:44.

Carter Flory and Owen Flory finished back-to-back in 12th and 13th, respectively, with both runners recording times of 18:00. The mark was a new personal record for Carter.

Lincoln Nielsen placed 16th with a time of 18:42, while Gunner Rogers rounded out the Indian Lake runners in 18th with a new PR of 22:02.

With multiple runners recording personal records and both teams finishing among the top three, the Lakers showed their ability to compete through a challenging stretch of the season.

The performances at the county meet provide momentum for Indian Lake as the middle school season continues.
