The Indian Lake boys golf team opened the 2026 fall sports season with a strong performance Monday, finishing fifth out of nine teams at the Urbana Country Club Classic.
Senior Jaxon Snipes paced the Lakers with a team-best round of 83, leading a balanced scoring effort in the season-opening tournament. Fellow senior Crew McPherson added a 92, while Grant Wickline carded a 94. Mason Berg contributed a 98, and Eli Cummins rounded out the scoring with a 111.
The Lakers combined for a team score of 367, earning fifth place in a competitive field and providing a solid foundation to begin the season.

Individual standout tournament performances led the tournament from the top of the field. Triad Junior Cohen Millice swung a tournament-best round of 76, while Jonathan Alder captured the team title by an impressive 25-stroke margin, highlighting the strength and depth of its lineup from top to bottom.
Indian Lake returns to action today at Prairieview Golf Club, where the Lakers are scheduled to face Riverside beginning at noon.
Meanwhile, the Lady Lakers will tee off their season today as well, competing in the Riverside Invitational at Cherokee Hills Golf Course. Both programs will look to build momentum as the fall campaign gets underway.
