Drivers from across Ohio met in Bellefontaine Sunday night, with their eyes on the prize and chaos on their minds. After the opening day of the fair had commenced, crowds gathered in the grandstand and in the pits to watch the county's best welders, drivers, and demo maniacs bash the night away, capping off the first night of fair festivities.

Seth Gibson of Bellefontaine claimed the biggest victory of the night Sunday at the Logan County Demolition Derby, winning the Street Stock Full-Size feature and earning the event's top payout of $1,500.

Drivers from across Ohio competed in five classes at the Logan County Fairgrounds, with winners emerging in the Street Stock Full-Size, Street Stock Compact, Windshield, MWFA and Mini-Van divisions.

Gibson drove the No. 218xx entry to victory in the premier Street Stock Full-Size class. Keith Collins of Sabina finished second to collect $500, while Cory Slane of Marysville earned third place and $100.

The Street Stock Compact division saw Doug Lewis of Urbana take top honors in the No. 51 car. Lewis earned the $1,000 winner's purse, followed by Jeff Elson of Pemberton in second for $300 and Joe Olinger of Springfield in third for $100.

Cameron Schoelein of Huber Heights captured the Windshield Class feature in the No. 5 car, earning $800. Elson added another strong finish with a runner-up performance worth $300, while Jase Elson of Sidney placed third and received $100.

In the MWFA competition, Dave Riley Jr. of Washington Court House drove the No. 379x car to victory and $800. Dave Riley Sr. of Madison Mills finished second for $300, while Tyler Collins of Sabina completed the top three and earned $100.

The evening concluded with the Mini-Van Class, where Shaun Johnson of Millerstown outlasted the field in the No. 57 van to collect the $1,000 winner's check. John Baughman of East Liberty finished second for $300, and Richard Reprogle of Sidney placed third for $100.

One of the night's standout performances belonged to Jeff Elson, who recorded second-place finishes in both the Street Stock Compact and Windshield classes.
