Indian Lake Lakers
Division III – Sectional Tournament
No. 6 Indian Lake vs. No. 5 Miami East
Saturday, Oct. 24 | 5:30 p.m. | Troy High School
Indian Lake opens its postseason run Saturday evening against fifth-seeded Miami East at Troy High School. The sixth-seeded Lakers face an opponent just one spot ahead of them in the bracket, setting up a matchup in which execution and consistency will be crucial.
Indian Lake will lean on its experienced leaders, including First-Team Central Buckeye Conference selections Cami Bailey and Addyson Roby. Both will be important pieces as the Lakers look to establish their rhythm and navigate the pressure of tournament play.
At the net, Courtney Alstaetter gives Indian Lake another valuable presence. Her instincts around the net and ability to challenge opposing front lines will be important as the Lakers look to create scoring opportunities and disrupt Miami East's attack.
With the postseason leaving little room for mistakes, serving pressure, defensive communication and finishing points in critical moments will be key to Indian Lake's chances of advancing.
A victory would send the Lakers into the next round against the winner of Dayton Christian and Milton-Union. Indian Lake must first get past Miami East before it can turn its attention to a potential deeper run in the Division III bracket.
West Liberty-Salem Tigers
Division V – Sectional Tournament
No. 4 West Liberty-Salem vs. No. 10 Waynesville
Wednesday, Oct. 21 | Trotwood High School
West Liberty-Salem begins its postseason campaign Wednesday against 10th-seeded Waynesville at Trotwood High School. The fourth-seeded Tigers enter the tournament looking to build on their regular-season performance and earn a spot in the next round.
The Tigers will be led by Ohio Heritage Conference selections Reese Winters and Reagan Winters, who bring different strengths to the court. Reese led the conference in kills, providing an offensive spark, while Reagan ranked third in digs, giving West Liberty-Salem a steady defensive presence.
Senior Kiersen Stoll also will be a player to watch. Stoll led the OHC in aces, making her serving ability an important weapon as the Tigers look to generate pressure and create opportunities for their offense.
Combining those strengths will be essential against Waynesville. West Liberty-Salem will need to maintain consistent passing, communicate effectively and capitalize on scoring chances while avoiding the unforced errors that can shift momentum in a tournament match.
A win would send the Tigers into the next round against the winner of Shawnee and Northwestern. With a place in the next stage of the bracket at stake, West Liberty-Salem will look to take care of business Wednesday and keep its postseason hopes moving forward.
Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders
District Quarterfinals – Southwest 3
Benjamin Logan vs. Meadowdale
Thursday, Oct. 22 | 5:30 p.m. | Brookville High School
Few teams enter the postseason with more momentum than Benjamin Logan, which takes a 20-1 record into Thursday's district quarterfinal against Meadowdale at Brookville High School.
The Lady Raiders have put together a standout season, built around a deep group of contributors capable of making an impact at different points in a match. Now, that balance will be tested as Ben jamin Logan begins its pursuit of a district championship.
First-Team CBC selection Abby Vance provides a commanding presence at the net, where she works alongside Georgia Daniels to power the Raiders' attack. Their ability to finish points and put pressure on opposing defenses will be central to Benjamin Logan's offensive success.
The Cline sisters, Summer and Autumn, have also been essential to the Raiders' offense. Their contributions will be important as Benjamin Logan looks to control the tempo, create opportunities for its hitters and maintain its rhythm as the stakes rise.
The Raiders' combination of attacking talent and depth gives them several ways to challenge an opponent, but postseason success will also depend on serving, consistent passing and limiting unforced errors. Staying composed through momentum swings and delivering in crucial points will be especially important as the tournament progresses.
A win Thursday would advance Benjamin Logan to face the winner of Oakwood and Bethel. The Raiders will focus first on Meadowdale, with the opportunity to extend an impressive season and move one step closer to a district title.
Riverside Lady Pirates
Division VII – Southwest 1 District Quarterfinals
Riverside vs. Covington
Tuesday, Oct. 20 | 7 p.m. | Sidney High School
Riverside will be among the first Logan County teams in action when the Lady Pirates take on Covington in a Division VII district quarterfinal Tuesday evening at Sidney High School.
The matchup presents an immediate challenge for Riverside, which has already faced the Buccs twice this season. Covington won both meetings, taking the first in four sets before securing a three-set victory in the second contest.
Those results give the Lady Pirates a clear picture of the challenge ahead. Riverside will need to apply what it learned from those earlier matchups, make adjustments and find ways to disrupt Covington's rhythm if it hopes to turn the tables in the postseason.
A strong start will be important, but the Lady Pirates also must be prepared to respond when momentum shifts. Consistent serve receive, disciplined defense and the ability to capitalize on attacking opportunities could help Riverside remain competitive throughout the match.
The single-elimination format leaves little margin for error, making every point and every set important. Riverside will need a complete team effort to overcome its conference rival and extend its season.
The winner will advance to face the winner of Jackson Center and Southeastern, giving the Lady Pirates a potential path deeper into the Southwest 1 district bracket.
Calvary Christian Spartans
Division VII – Southwest 1 District Quarterfinals
Calvary Christian vs. Middletown Christian
Thursday, Oct. 22 | 5:30 p.m. | Piqua High School
Calvary Christian rounds out the county's postseason schedule Thursday when the Spartans meet Middletown Christian in a Division VII district quarterfinal at Piqua High School.
Junior Grace Zell will be a key player for Calvary Christian as it looks to make a postseason run. Zell's serving ability and passing accuracy earned her First-Team Metro Buckeye Conference recognition, highlighting her value in both creating pressure from the service line and helping the Spartans establish their offense.
Her ability to provide consistency in serve receive and help the team maintain its rhythm will be important as Calvary Christian navigates the pressure of tournament play.
The Spartans will need contributions throughout the lineup, with an emphasis on disciplined defense, effective communication and taking advantage of opportunities at the net. In a single-elimination match, avoiding costly mistakes and responding to an opponent's runs can make the difference between advancing and seeing the season end.
A victory would send Calvary Christian into the next round against the winner of Russia and Lockland. The Spartans will first need to get past Middletown Christian before looking ahead to the next challenge in the Southwest 1 bracket.
The Road Ahead
The postseason offers five Logan County-area volleyball teams a fresh opportunity to extend their seasons and compete for championships.

Each team has its own strengths and challenges, from Benjamin Logan's 20-1 record and deep offensive lineup to the experience and individual honors represented by Indian Lake and West Liberty-Salem. Riverside will look to turn two regular-season losses to Covington into a postseason breakthrough, while Calvary Christian will rely on Zell and its supporting cast to begin a district run.
The paths differ, but the objective remains the same: win the next match and keep playing.
With tournament volleyball underway, Logan County's teams will look to turn months of preparation into postseason success, one set at a time.
