Mary M. Hochstetler, 90, of rural Bellefontaine, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, September 13, 2026, in her residence. She was born on January 24, 1936, in Mt. Hope (Holmes County), Ohio, the daughter of the late Mahlan J. and Elizabeth A. (Hochstetler) Hochstetler. She is survived by her husband, Elmer L. Hochstetler and their five children: son, Vernon (Verna) Hochstetler of Auburn, KY, and Vernon’s children, Lorraine (Alan) Maghoney, Lisa (Shaphan) Miller, Timothy (Cindy) Hochstetler, Joel (Vanessa) Hochstetler, Bethany Hochstetler, James (Hannah) Hochstetler: son, Eli (Miriam) Hochstetler of Bellefontaine and their children, Elizabeth (Philip) Byler, Hannah (Titus) Yoder, Silas (Luann) Hochstetler, Seth (Malinda) Hochstetler, Mary Hochstetler, Abram Hochstetler, and Jesse Hochstetler, daughter, Emma (Marvin) Beachy of Kalona, IA and their children, Howard (Naomi) Beachy, Michael (Mary) Beachy, Marilyn (Clifford) Miller, Jonathan (Melody) Beachy, Freeman (Shaena) Beachy, Marcus (Angie) Beachy, Myrna (Mark) Miller, daughter, Alice Hochstetler at home, and Millie Powell of Hopkinsville, KY and her children, Trent Powell, Adrianna Powell, Christian Powell, and Jaxson Powell. Mary was a member of the Belle Center Amish Church. Bishop Jerald Bontrager officiated a funeral service at 9:30am on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, in the Silas Hochstetler Residence, 9740 Co. Rd. 101, Belle Center, Ohio 43310. Visitation was Monday, September 14^th from 6 to 8pm and Tuesday, September 15^th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at the Silas Hochstetler Residence.
