
For millions of people, a migraine is far more than a bad headache.
Migraine attacks can produce intense, throbbing or pulsing pain, often on one side of the head, accompanied by nausea, vomiting and extreme sensitivity to light and sound.
An migraine can last anywhere from several hours to several days and may become severe enough to interfere with work, school, family responsibilities and other everyday activities.
Although head pain is the symptom most commonly associated with migraine, the condition can involve a much broader collection of symptoms. Some people experience warning signs well before the headache begins, while others continue to feel the effects long after the worst pain has disappeared.
