COLUMBUS – From buckeye to pawpaw to American chestnut, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Forestry is making it easier for Ohioans to purchase locally-grown trees with the Buckeye State Tree Nursery online ordering system.
Customers can visit nursery.ohiodnr.gov to browse available tree species and place orders directly online.
The new system expands access to seedlings grown at the Buckeye State Tree Nursery in Zanesville. It allows customers to choose between picking up their orders at the nursery or having seedlings shipped directly to them.
“The Buckeye State Tree Nursery was created to make more Ohio-grown trees available for conservation tree planting projects, and this new website makes it much easier for landowners and organizations to be part of that effort,” said Division of Forestry Chief Dan Balser.
“Whether someone is restoring a woodland, creating wildlife habitat, establishing a windbreak, or simply adding trees to their property, they can now easily purchase seedlings grown right here in Ohio.”…. READ MORE…
