Sometimes the most meaningful acts of kindness happen around a table, with scraps of fabric, a sewing machine and a group of people who simply decided to do something useful.
That’s how the quilting ministry at First Lutheran Church began. In the summer of 2012, Mary Glett asked Marjorie Bixler if she had ever thought about making quilts for Lutheran World Relief. The idea took hold, and soon Tom and Cindy Weikart, Linda Goff and Jay Hunt joined them.
