The Benjamin Logan boys soccer team saw its postseason run come to an end with a 3-0 loss to Milton-Union in the district semifinals, closing the book on a successful season highlighted by conference and sectional championships.
The Raiders and Bulldogs battled through a scoreless first half, with neither team able to find the back of the net. However, Milton-Union broke through with a penalty kick with 18 minutes remaining, shifting the momentum and putting Benjamin Logan in a difficult position as the game entered its final stages.
Milton-Union added two more goals to secure the 3-0 victory and advance, ending the Raiders’ postseason hopes.
Despite the disappointing result, Benjamin Logan has plenty to celebrate after finishing the season with an 11-5-3 overall record. The Raiders captured both the CBC Mad River Division championship and a sectional championship, establishing themselves as one of the area's top teams throughout the campaign.
For head coach Hughes, the team's accomplishments extend well beyond its record and postseason success. He expressed immense pride in the group, particularly the 10 seniors who provided leadership both on and off the field throughout the season.
Hughes described the senior class as a coach’s dream, emphasizing that the final score of the Raiders’ season-ending loss does not define the character or legacy of the players.

Instead, the team will be remembered for its determination, resilience and ability to find ways to win when faced with adversity. The relationships built throughout the season and the leadership demonstrated by the players also will remain lasting parts of the program's success.
The 10 seniors leave behind a legacy that extends beyond the scoreboard, helping establish a standard for future Benjamin Logan teams to follow.
While the season did not end the way the Raiders had hoped, their accomplishments tell the story of a group that consistently competed, overcame challenges and brought home two championships.
Benjamin Logan’s 11-5-3 campaign will be remembered for its CBC Mad River Division title, sectional championship and the lasting impact made by a senior class that helped guide the program throughout the season.
The final whistle brought an end to the Raiders’ postseason journey, but it could not erase the memories, friendships and accomplishments created along the way. For Benjamin Logan, the season was about far more than its final result — it was about a team that found success together and represented its school with pride.
