The Benjamin Logan soccer programs had plenty to celebrate Saturday, as both the girls and boys teams came away with victories over West Liberty-Salem.

For the Lady Raiders, the afternoon brought another milestone in what has become a standout season.

Benjamin Logan edged the Tigers, 1-0, to reach the 10-win mark for the second consecutive season, improving to 10-2-1 on the year.

The lone goal came from Ella Stoodt, who found the back of the net off an assist from Paislee Rodenberger. From there, the Raider defense did the rest.

Goalkeeper Avery Rogers turned aside five shots to preserve the shutout, giving her a school-record seventh shutout of the season.

The victory continued a strong campaign for Benjamin Logan, which has now reached double-digit wins in consecutive seasons.

The Lady Raiders will look to add another victory Monday when they host Calvary Christian Monday before heading to Tecumseh Wednesday.

The Benjamin Logan boys followed with a victory of their own, defeating West Liberty-Salem 2-1 to extend their winning streak to four games.

The Raiders built their advantage in the first half, with Gavin Jordan scoring twice. Jordan's goals came with assists from Brock Henry and Bode Clapsaddle, giving Benjamin Logan a 2-0 advantage heading into halftime.

The Tigers managed to get on the scoreboard in the second half when Benjamin Logan accidentally put the ball into its own net, cutting the deficit to one.

But the Raiders' defense held firm the rest of the way, keeping West Liberty-Salem off the scoreboard and securing the 2-1 victory.

The win moved Benjamin Logan to 7-3-3 on the season and marked the Raiders' fourth consecutive victory.

With the postseason approaching, Benjamin Logan now turns its attention to a pair of important CBC matchups. The Raiders will travel to Tecumseh and Urbana on Wednesday and Thursday.

For both Benjamin Logan squads, Saturday provided another reminder that the Raiders are hitting their stride at the right time of the season.
