Benjamin Logan powered its way to a 41-13 victory over West Liberty-Salem Friday night, using a dominant rushing attack and a spectacular performance from kicker Brandon Heater to pull away and hand the Tigers their second loss of the season.

The Raiders wasted little time establishing control. Jordan Pender broke loose for a 72-yard touchdown run in the opening quarter, putting Benjamin Logan ahead 8-0 after one. From there, the Raiders continued to pile on, scoring three more times in the second quarter to take a commanding 21-0 lead into halftime.

The biggest moment of the first half came from Heater.

With the Raiders already in front, Heater drilled a 56-yard field goal, setting a new Benjamin Logan school record (which he owned) and giving the Raiders a 21-0 advantage. The kick was also reported as the eighth-longest field goal in Ohio high school football history, adding an historic individual accomplishment to an already dominant night.

Heater wasn't finished there. Earlier in the second quarter, he connected on a 30-yard field goal before Rhett Newman punched in a one-yard touchdown run.

Benjamin Logan's rushing attack continued to overwhelm the Tigers throughout the night. The Raiders finished with 366 total yards, including 332 rushing yards on 44 carries. West Liberty-Salem, meanwhile, managed just 65 yards on the ground.

Pender was the centerpiece of the Raiders' ground game, finishing with 223 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries. Wyatt Predmore added 74 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries, while quarterback Adam Tinsman contributed 42 rushing yards.

Predmore's eight-yard touchdown run in the third quarter pushed the Raiders' advantage to 28-0.

For West Liberty-Salem, the offense finally found its rhythm in the fourth quarter.

Quarterback Beckett Sullivan connected with Bradel Sullivan for a one-yard touchdown, putting the Tigers on the board. Shortly afterward, Zade Bieleski broke through for a four-yard touchdown run, cutting the deficit to 28-13.

The Tigers' fourth-quarter push, however, was quickly answered by Benjamin Logan.

Tinsman found Caiden Smitke for an eight-yard touchdown, and Pender added his second score of the night on a four-yard run to put the Raiders ahead 41-13.

West Liberty-Salem finished with 232 total yards and moved the chains for 15 first downs, but the Tigers struggled to sustain drives against the Benjamin Logan defense. The Raiders also controlled the ground game throughout, averaging 7.5 yards per rushing attempt.

Sullivan completed 18 of 26 passes for 167 yards and a touchdown, with Bradel Sullivan leading the Tigers' receiving corps. He caught six passes for 62 yards and a touchdown.

On the ground, Silas Krabill led West Liberty-Salem with 71 yards on 14 carries, while Bieleski added 49 yards and a touchdown.

The loss drops West Liberty-Salem to 0-2 on the young season, while Benjamin Logan picks up its first victory and improves to 1-1.

For the Tigers, Friday's home opener provided a difficult result, but the season remains young. For Benjamin Logan, it was a statement victory — highlighted by a record-setting kick that will be remembered long after the 41-13 final fades.

And for Heater, 56 yards was more than enough to make history.
