After a dominant Week 2 performance, the Riverside Pirates return home tonight, Friday, Sept. 4, looking to carry that momentum into Week 3 when they welcome the Spencerville Bearcats to DeGraff.
Riverside enters the matchup at 1-1, while Spencerville comes in searching for its first victory of the season at 0-2.
For the Pirates, Week 3 provides an opportunity to build off one of the more impressive offensive performances in the area so far this season.
Riverside opened the year with a 32-8 loss to Ansonia before bouncing back in a major way against Northeastern. The Pirates exploded for 47 points in their Week 2 victory, defeating the Jets 47-21 and evening their record at 1-1.
The turnaround was exactly what the Pirates needed after a difficult opening night.

Riverside's offense showed plenty of life in Week 2, scoring nearly as many points against Northeastern as it did during its entire 2025 matchup with the Jets.

Riverside has now demonstrated that it can put points on the board in a hurry, and maintaining that offensive rhythm will be a major key against a Spencerville defense that has looked vulnerable through its first two games.
