Riverside (1-1) put together a powerful offensive performance Friday night, piling up 387 total yards and scoring seven touchdowns on its way to a convincing 47-21 victory over Northeastern (0-2).

The Pirates established control early and never looked back, racing to a 13-0 first-quarter lead behind the legs of Dylan Trimble. Trimble opened the scoring with an 11-yard touchdown run before breaking loose later in the quarter for a 57-yard touchdown scamper.

Riverside continued to dominate in the second quarter, finding the end zone three more times. Trimble added a 34-yard touchdown run, Justin Mazariegos scored from 13 yards out, and Gunner Carpenter punched in a 2-yard touchdown run as the Pirates built a commanding 33-7 halftime advantage.

Northeastern found success through Mefford, who scored on a 26-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and later connected with Brown for a 20-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. Brown also added a 1-yard rushing touchdown before halftime, but Riverside's explosive offense proved too much to overcome.

The Pirates struck twice in the third quarter to put the game out of reach. Quarterback Brody Orsborne connected with Gabe Steineman for an 8-yard touchdown pass, and Mazariegos added his second score of the night on a 15-yard touchdown run to extend the lead to 47-14.

Riverside's offense was fueled by a dominant rushing attack that amassed 355 yards on just 38 carries, averaging an impressive 9.3 yards per attempt. The Pirates totaled 387 yards of offense while limiting mistakes and consistently winning field position battles throughout the night.

Defensively, Riverside delivered several key plays to keep Northeastern in check. Gabe Steineman and Liam Shoe led the team with seven tackles each. Steineman added two pass breakups, while Shoe recorded a tackle for loss. Dylan Trimble finished with three tackles, a tackle for loss, and a pass breakup.

Brody Orsborne contributed on both sides of the ball, tossing a touchdown pass and recording an interception that he returned 18 yards. The Pirates' defense collected four pass breakups and three tackles for loss while helping hold Northeastern scoreless in both the first and third quarters.

Riverside finished with a 4-for-7 conversion rate on third down and outgained Northeastern 387-286. Northeastern generated 120 passing yards and 166 rushing yards but was unable to recover from Riverside's fast start and relentless rushing attack.

With the victory, Riverside showcased a balanced effort featuring explosive offense, opportunistic defense, and a rushing attack that controlled the tempo from beginning to end.
