What happens when women get together for an evening of good food, good friends and a good cause? In Logan County, apparently, quite a lot.
The second annual Sip & Swing for Cancer, held Sept. 24 at Fion Wine Room & Classic Swing, doubled both its attendance and the amount raised from its inaugural event, bringing in $5,400 for the Logan County Cancer Society.
The evening brought women together for an evening of connection, conversation and community, while raising money to help local residents facing cancer.
The $5,400 comes with some very real possibilities. According to the Logan County Cancer Society, the funds raised could provide one month of cancer-related supplies for 27 clients, one month of cancer-related medication for 18 clients, or one month of travel assistance to appointments for seven clients.
“Our 2nd annual Sip & Swing for Cancer reflected what makes Logan County special: ladies coming together so that no one facing cancer has to walk that journey alone,” said Bobbie Trittschuh, executive director of the Logan County Cancer Society.
“Every dollar raised stays local, helping individuals and families access meaningful care, support, and services close to home.”
