A plethora of parade-goers packed downtown Lakeview Monday morning, May 25, under sunny skies following a weekend of rainy weather for the Lakeview Amvets Post 39 Memorial Day parade.

This year’s parade featured approximately 100 units decked out with U.S. flags and showcasing their patriotic spirit in celebration of America’s 250th birthday.

Following the parade, a memorial service was conducted in the Amvets parking lot featuring speakers: Lakeview Mayor Elaine Fagan Moore, Russells Point Mayor John Huffman and Logan County Commissioner Joe Antram.

The Amvets Post 39 offered a free lunch to all, immediately following the service and ceremony.
