Child Passenger Safety Week offers important reminders for local families
Every trip in the car is an opportunity to protect our youngest passengers. During Child Passenger Safety Week, Sept. 20–26, families across Ohio are being reminded of the importance of choosing and correctly using child safety seats, booster seats and seat belts.
Child Passenger Safety Week provides an opportunity for parents, grandparents and other caregivers to review their children's car seats and make sure they are being used correctly—and in accordance with Ohio law.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), an estimated 160,850 children age 14 and younger were injured in traffic crashes in 2024, while 677 children lost their lives.
