Virginia Ann “Jenny” Jones, 76, of West Liberty, passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine, Ohio. She was born in Springfield, Ohio on July 30, 1949, to the late Hobert Eugene “Gene” Smith and Pauline Jewel (Powell) Smith.

On December 23, 1978, Jenny married Rodger Dean Jones Sr. in Springfield, Ohio and he preceded her in death on November 14, 2018. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Karen Botz, and Phyllis “Pinky” Lemon; and two brothers, Ronald Wilt, and Donald Wilt.

Jenny is survived by her daughter, Sara (Craig) Boling; three grandchildren, Craig Boling Jr., Alexia (Stephen) Coleman, and Hayley Boling; a great granddaughter, Emma Boling; and several nieces and nephews.

 A 1967 graduate of South High School in Springfield, Ohio, Jenny had worked as a teacher’s aide at Riverside Local Schools in DeGraff.

Visitation will be from 12-1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 210 W. Hayes Street in DeGraff, where a funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff, Ohio
