Tuesday night was full of runs for the Lady Tigers, defeating the Triad Cardinals 21-6 in an Ohio Heritage Conference battle April 7. This is the second of two meetings the teams were scheduled for the season.

WL-S amassed 12 hits and drew nine walks on the night of action. Highlighted by an 11-run barrage in the 3rd inning.

For the Tiger girls, Emma Ligget pitched all five innings of the game. She pitched to the tune of three earned runs, four walked batters and struck out four along the way.

Senior Olivia Reichardt belted a homer in the outing and collected four RBIs in the contest. Senior Kaylee Blair and Freshman Emily King both chipped in with doubles of their own.

Every girl who batted for the Tigers would eventually come around the bases to score at least once.

WLS sweeps the season series 2-0, outscoring the Cardinal girls 38-11 on the season.

The Tiger girls’ team now sits at 4-4, while Triad is still in search of its first victory of the season.

WLS softball is back in action on Friday, April 10, while Triad searched for a win against Ridgemont Wednesday, April 8.

At this time, there are no stats from Triad for the game.
