Area residents can treat their taste buds to a variety of favorite soups while also supporting an important cause at the 14th annual Logan County Empty Bowls event this evening, Monday, April 13.

The downtown Bellefontaine soup crawl takes place from 5 to 7 p.m., starting at The Flying Pepper Cantina, 137 W. Columbus Ave., as a fundraiser for Second Harvest Food Bank of Clark, Champaign and Logan Counties.

For a $20 donation (or $10 for children 12 and under), participants can take home a handmade ceramic bowl created by student artists.

First, attendees should pick up their bowl at The Flying Pepper Cantina, and then they’ll receive a ticket for the soup crawl.

Then, take your ticket to participating restaurants and organizations throughout downtown Bellefontaine. After sampling soup at The Flying Pepper Cantina, other participating locations include: Brewfontaine, Six Hundred Downtown, 2G's Barbecue, Sweet Aromas and the Maxwell.

All proceeds go to Second Harvest Food Bank CCL, helping to further its mission to combat food insecurity in Logan County.
