Local employers looking to connect with the next generation of workers are invited to attend the October Logan County Collaborative meeting Monday, Oct. 26, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Cobblestone Hotel in Bellefontaine.
The meeting, themed “Engaging the Next Generation of Workforce,” will focus on helping businesses and organizations attract Logan County graduates and introduce employers to YouScience, a platform local students can use to assess their aptitudes and interests and connect with industries that may be a good match.
Representatives from the national YouScience team and local schools will participate in the program. Attendees will learn what YouScience is and how students use it, how employers can use the platform to connect with students, and steps organizations can take to increase their visibility among young people preparing to enter the workforce.
The program is intended for a wide variety of employers interested in attracting local graduates, including small businesses, manufacturers, healthcare providers, doctors' and dentists' offices, schools, police and fire departments, other public-sector employers and nonprofit organizations.
Following the meeting, a happy hour will take place from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Cobblestone Hotel, sponsored by Malila Hughes of Key Realty Group. The first drink will be complimentary, and tours of the hotel will be available.
