The Logan County Sheriff’s Office is aware of reports circulating on social media regarding chickens being dumped at the Republic Services Landfill in Logan County, located at 2946 N. U.S. Route 68, Bellefontaine.  

Upon becoming aware of the situation, the sheriff’s office initiated contact with the Ohio Department of Agriculture to ensure the matter is properly investigated and addressed.  

The Department of Agriculture is the appropriate agency to handle potential livestock or agricultural-related concerns of this nature, Chief Deputy Joe Kopus said in a release.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office is not investigating this matter. The Chronicle will be in touch with the Ohio Department of Agriculture Communications Division for further information.
